Gmu 121
« on: September 20, 2016, 06:33:28 AM »
I got access to alot of private property here. Never been here other than an initial drive 2 weeks ago. Seems like alot of private farm land. And some woody area. The area were planning on hunting is the Springdale area. I'm going back up Saturday for more scouting. Can anyone give me some pointers or suggestions. Don't need or want honey holes just looking for help. Thanks
Is it waterfowl season yet..............

Late whitetail season is pretty good in that area.  Focus on the last couple days when the bucks are chasing.

A lot of fires over the past years. but there is still some area with good cover, food and a water source! Private land is the key though. sounds like you got the upper hand already! throw out some trail cameras. look for beaten down paths. bedding areas, see what's out there!

That's great! You're lucky you have private property access.  I have been turkey and grouse hunting on and off over there the last 7 years, and typically you see your big bucks and larger groups in the farmer's fields.  If you drive at night and are making your turns weaving around the farmland, you'll just see eyes in some spots.  It's pretty incredible. I use to hunt up in hunters pass/canyon and every year I would see nice Bucks, Moose and Bear while cruising around.  Have fun
If I'm not selling, I should be hunting, If I'm not hunting, I should quit!

There is not a bad spot to hunt deer anywhere within 50 miles of that place.  i've had years i had to shoot them just out of self defense.  Lots of land to hunt.  Don't need private land up there, but its cool you got some.

If anyone has any info on public land or a landowner who would like a youth hunter to take a doe off their property it would be very helpful! Wanting him to take something this year after his first year not getting one.Thank you!

Buy a Inland Enpire Paper permit and head to unit 124. It's a "any buck" unit and being youth can shoot does it would make it an "any deer" unit for the young one. Check when antlerless opens for youth and you will surley get an opportunity.Best of luck!👍😁

If you buy the IEP paper pass shoot me a PM and I can point you to some land that shooting a doe should not be an issue.
