Bumping GMU camping

Good Morning. I am headed to GMU 356/ 352/ 360 for Muzzy Oct 1-7. I am having a difficult time nailing down a good camping site. The two places I was hoping for, Indian Creek and Wildcat Road area, the access roads are closed. I am bringing large tent and two vehicles. I want to hunt the wilderness area around Shellrock peak and the south side (for no other reason than I need focus on an area, and hopefully it holds elk). I don't live anywhere close by and don't know the area very well. I am asking for any suggestions for camping spots where I won't have to drive after setting up camp or keep it to a short drive. Any input is welcome; I hate asking questions without providing my own experience. When I have some to offer I will be more of a contributor.  Thanks.

not sure just what area yer hunting.... but on bumping lake road, cyprus creek cg, is open, one of the cg's at the lake are open (not sure if it's upper, or lower... across the street from eachother tho), south of bumping lake are campgrounds where they park their horse trailers by the trail heads...  many spots along the roads in bumping and nile, ya will see places where others have camped before... ya can camp there, but no facilities or water...  hope that helps

Go past wild cat road, go past Rimrock Lake. Once you pass Rimrock you will see a sign for Clear Lake Recreation Area. Pass that sign. About 100 yards past the sign there is a right turn onto an old FS road that leads to numerous great camping spots and there are elk right around them. You might not be too far from Shellrock peak at those spots too.

OutHouse gave you a good area to check out. Also, West of the upper Tieton County road turnoff, there is a spur road that goes south leading to old timber units. There's a few dispersed campsites in there. Those two areas are the closest to the shellrock area.

Since you put gmu 360 down, there is dispersed camping all along the bethel ridge road (1500 road) and up by cash prarie (1500199). Don't rule out soup creek (1305 road) for camping as well.
