Trijicon vs NF scopes

My buddy is looking for a mid priced scope up to $1500. I personally don't have knowledge of either of these, but he was looking at the Trijicon accupoint 5-20x50 or the NightForce SHV 5-20x56 both sfp. What are your thoughts on it? Or maybe a different scope in that range.

The Nightforce SHV will be a tier above the Trijicon for sure.

Or should he just find a used NSX? If anyone is selling there's he's interested.

I'd take a used NXS over a new SHV. I don't think you can ever go wrong with a NF NXS.

What type of hunting does he want to do? Elk to 400 yards, or deer at 1000, or ? Twist turrets or use a holdover reticle? Need a little more info to recommend the right hunting scope.
