Any experience or input on this cartridge would be very appreciated. Just bought one in the ruger American to try out and not be out a ton of cash if I don't like it.
Thanks

I bought one about 3 weeks ago, The Savage Model 11. I put a Vortex Diamondback HP on it. It was a pleasure to sight in, I have it zeroed at 200 yards. Last night I dropped a coyote at about 100 yards on the fly with my first shot. My plan is to use it for Antelope and Deer. I have communicated with Hornady about which rounds to use for medium size game and they were very helpful on bullet suggestion because many of the rounds manufactured for this caliber are designed for competition shooting not hunting. (I am not a reloader and have no desire to be.) So far I am very pleased with it.

Good cartridge, very similar to the 260 Remington. Factory ammo is supposed to be very accurate, so it's a good cartridge if you're not a reloader. Recoil should be relatively light, so it's a good choice in that lightweight Ruger American.

6.5 Creed is a great round. Easy to load for, relatively good performance, and great factory ammo if you don't reload. I've shot a bunch of it over the last couple years. My wife shot her deer at 600 last year with hers using a 140 amax and it worked really well. I have no doubt the new 143 stuff won't work just as good.

Thanks for the input guys. Really excited to shoot this thing down range and my hope is to finally get away from the punishment of the magnum rifles. One other thing if any one has input? Out the gate I ordered a lot of 129 Grain sst. I reload and a huge fan of nosler but cant imagine why these sst bullets wouldn't be as good as any?
Thanks

The wife's 6.5 loves the 140 gr. SST, tried the 129, but gets better groups with the 140's, shoots the Savage Lady Hunter. She has taken numerous deer and a bear, all with the 140 gr. hand loads.
