Little help with white tail deer

So I've been hunting for about 7 years off and on.  Usually for mule deer and never got one.  The one legal buck I got 5 years ago was a 2x2 blacktail.  Did some research on white tail deer, wam to try to hunt them this year.  Just want to fill the freezer no monster bucks, taking my 8 and 10 year old daughters with me, getting them into hunting and boy are they excited, went to cabelas the other day and they were all over the rifles, ammo and of course the camo clothing  :chuckle: they have to look pretty while hunting.   :chuckle:    If anyone can give any pointers maybe a better GMU point in the wright direction, not looking for any honey holes, thanks in advance.

While you wait on someone more informed... I seen a ton of whitetail this spring while hunting Turkey in the NE corner. If I were going to chase whitetail this year, thats where I'd go. With that said, I'm no authority on the subject.

yep... NE corner of the state... white tails are a lot easier to pattern then the other deers... unless pushed off an area they always return to the same bedding areas and food areas, by the same trails...  BUT.... they are also more apt to spook and disappear then the other deers ....  grew up hunting whities on the east coast... moved out here in mid 80's and thought black tail were stupid compared to what I was used too...   scout for a good area, find the trails they use between bedding and food, the heavy trails will be mostly does and young bucks... the lighter, hard to find trails (normally 10-20 yds off the doe trails) will be bucks.... find a good spot, check the winds, set up, and wait..... good luck  ;)

Thanks guys for the feedback.   Already got a spot in mind.  Going to scout tomorrow with my little hunters.  Will post pictures.   :tup:
