Being very involved in the Saltwater Aquarium Hobby, I've been following this disaster for the several years that it's been known.  Basically, Lion Fish have NEVER been endemic to anywhere in the Atlantic Ocean.  Over the past 20 years, hobbyists have released unwanted fish, from Atlantic Ocean coastal communities. Lionfish have destroyed many reef systems, that are already endangered, throughout the warmer regions of the Atlantic Ocean.  For many years, some areas have allowed bounties for these fish.  Spearfishing has always been the method of choice.  I'm not sure I'd be willing to put a Glock into that type of environment.  It's more than just saltwater to be concerned about.  Areas that Lion Fish congregate in, are notoriously known for strong current and wave activity.  I'd hate to fill my Glock up with that fine, powdery ocean sand!

Lion fish have no natural predators, and they are eating everything available.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

I have enjoyed spear fishing for them while in Honduras and Cozumel. Excellent eating fish but some divers refuse to acknowledge the damage they are doing and frown upon killing them. I will shoot them every chance I get.
