clubs for new hunters?
« on: September 18, 2016, 04:46:49 PM »
I live in Spokane and am new to hunting. I was wondering if there are any sportsmens clubs ect. in the Spokane are that help new adult hunters learn hunting. I would be interested in hunting upland birds/small game and maybe deer. appreciate the help thanks!

I'm in your shoes too!  I recently met with some folks from NWTF, and they were very helpful.  I think they're going to try to do more events in the future.  I'm getting the impression that the most information/help will be gained through finding contacts and building a network, and learning by failing A LOT.  I'd check with your local sporting goods stores about possible events too.

I hope someone with more experience responds, because I'd like to hear about these things too.

Hi there,  I just came across this today.  It looks like wdfw is putting on some clinics.  One is today, in your neighborhood, for deer hunting. And there are a couple for October as well.

This clinic is designed to give the beginning hunter the tools and knowledge to hunt waterfowl in Washington State. The course will go over the types of ducks in Washington State, hunting methods, hunting equipment, and game care. This clinic may last up to four hours.
