I know the Stawood area, and Skagit up north.

There is the Ridgefield wildlife refuge down south
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

Yeah up here in whatcom and skagit is great duck hunting. Skagit is probably better but its a little more difficult I've found. Tons of public blinds here in whatcom county

Also look on the Washington hunting site they have a list of public blinds for you to check out.

I was just looking at some the information online there. Seems like mallards come a bit later in October and November. I wonder if I head out there opening weekend with my new mallard and Canada decoys if the birds will think I'm an idiot and just pass me by

All the Local Ducks and Geese will flock to your decoys for the first few days until they realize what is going on :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: .    I plan on finding some unsuspecting Geese to shoot with my bow.

I'm a new arrival from Colorado, dog is too old to hunt but I haven't reached that stage yet, living in Blaine, WA, have lots of duck dekes, a few goose floaters, 400-odd Texas Rags for snow geese, no boat but people tell me there's good goose hunting for whites and darks in Skagit County. Need some pointers.

Armaher, the timber land in Jefferson County has small lakes & ponds that you can set up on or jump shoot

My in laws live in Port Orchard I've definitely considered taking a layout boat to the bay there...tons of birds are always congregated in there.

Port Orchard has some laws in place about no shooting within 500ft of the shoreline or something like that. I looked into it a bit last year. I'd look into it before heading out. The Widgeon pile in there but I don't think you can hunt them. If I'm wrong it would be a blast.
