Quick range finder access??
« on: September 24, 2016, 07:48:17 AM »
What do you guys prefer for fast access to your range finder? Right now I have just have my range finder on a lanyard around my neck and I'm not a fan.  Seems to bang around a lot and if I tuck it into my jacket it can be a hassle to get to. I'm using an s4 bino harness and would prefer to not change that either. Just curious what you guys like?

I run the FHF bino harness and keep my rangefinder on the right hand side so I can grab it with minimal movement.  :twocents:

I can see needing quick access for archery or maybe muzzle loader, but not modern firearm.

I keep mine in a side pouch on my day pack.

Neck strap and in the front pocket of my camo shirts. Doesn't bounce around, easy access, in the heat of the moment you can range and just drop it. When I get up to keep walking I slip it back into the pocket. This works IF you can find shirts w front pockets on the chest AND its on the east side for archery so the weather is nice :)

Same same here for my archery and muzzy rf. Not sure with my rifle hunting rf.... It's bigger than my binos.  :chuckle:

Lanyard and tucked into a pocket or into my shirt.  I need things tied to me or I leave them behind.

Quick, somebody post up another FHF selfie before this thread loses steam.

In the brush I wear my rangefinder in my Bino harness and leave the binos in the truck. Otherwise I wear it in my shirt pocket and around my neck.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I have the s4 lockdown also and an archer's choice range finder in the neoprene case with lanyard.  I wear the lanyard and hang the rangefinder so when I grab it with my right hand it is already pointing the correct way.  When hiking around I tuck it in between my chest and the top of the s4.  Wedged in there is no tension on the lanyard.  Seems to work for me.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I have a tether I got somewhere that attaches to the range finder w/a snap and has a clamp that cams over center that bites into the strap on my Badlands binocular cases or collar of my coat.  It is really nice to have it right there and it does not get in the way for shooting bow or rifle
