Not sure on the original photo, I'd tend to lean towards grizz because I normally don't see claw marks at all on blackies.

However on that photo that Bullblaster posted, that's definitely 100% Polar Bear!!!!

The medium that the track was left in has a lot more to do with the presence of claw marks than the species of bear does.  I've seen plenty of black bear tracks with claw marks. 

And no, a 2-300 pound grizzly doesn't leave extraordinarily large tracks.

100 % the track on the bottom was made by a human...unless of course the bear has an account with amazon and they drone flighted out a pair of waterproof boots and trousers along with a digital camera and instructions on how to post pics to Hunt Wa...

There's a few grizz in the selkirks, the most resent one was put there on June 29 of 2016. When he was caught he was 5 years old and was 466 pounds. He has a gps tracking collar and a ear tag in both ears. I have several pics of him. Got all the info on him from the U.S fish and game department.

I believe it. Ran into a guy just across the border years ago when I was cutting timber and they had just released a young male. We saw him the next day. Looked around 400 lbs. He hadid a new collar and had no cares in the world we were there.
