I just help Bruce break down the fair booth.  Boy some of thsat fur needs to be replace.  The red Fox for one has seen its better days.  I'm thinking over the last two or three years that fox skin has been touched and rubbed at least a good couple of hundred thousand times.  It is just one of many that needs to be replace.

We need some donated Furs for our "fairs Schools and some for the Miss Rodeo Fur Program."

With the fur market prices estimated to of being low this year, maybe just maybe you would like to donate some of your furs to the WSTA programs. The fur will be used for our Fair Booths, Schools and Miss Rodeo Fur Vest Programs.  They can be raw or tanned.  If they are raw, just make sure that they are put up right and dried before you ship them to us.  "You will get Full Credit for your donation."

We ran out of donated muskrat for the Miss Rodeo Vest last year and need something new this year.  If you would like to donate your furs to just this program let us know.  A few nice beaver skins would work or muskrats or maybe even a few prime coyotes or fox.

Furs can be either tanned or raw like I said.  We can use just about everything including: beaver, river otter, mink, muskrat, nutria, pine marten, coyote, fox (reds or grays), weasel and ermine, bobcat and a fisher or two of each.  Can we count on you?

Contact or Send your donated furs to either Bruce or myself.  If they are raw, make sure that they are put-up and dry.  We will send them out to our Tannery to have them process.  Thanks in advance.

Nice donation with the bobcat! At the moment all I got is a smaller beaver I still have to skin from the end of the season...I'll put it up soon when It cools down a bit....if it turns out alright I'll send it your way!

Just a note: I noticed John included fisher in his request. While I would love to have a fisher pelt it better be from a State where it is legal to harvest. A fisher from WA is verboten.

The sooner the better.  Moyle Mink Tannery is out about seven to eight months on returns.  If you can get it to me as soon as you can, maybe I can talk them into a rush order for Amenda for this years Miss Rodeo.  Thanks, we'll take what ever you guys give us.

Oh, and as for that Fisher, yes I hope its from out of state and not from here too.

Bruce just doesn't like possums.  We'll even take those, we have a lot of trapper training classes that our Instructors are doing that could use it as a show and tell for the trapper trainees.

My thoughts on donating fur:  First of all what a great thing to do and many thanks to those who are willing to donate. Personally I want to trap but there is a limit to how much you want around the house and with todays fur prices it gives you a reason to get out even if it galls you to send your furs of for a paltry check.

I will say this though about our needs: We need furs for Miss Rodeo, a request for educational material and to renew some of the stuff in our Fair booth. That means good stuff. I know the old saying, "beggars can't be choosers", but we need to put our best foot forward and to promote furs people need to see the good stuff. If we get something damaged don't feel bad when I tell you we sold it. It's all good for the Association but be aware if I am going to put a fur out to show the public it needs to be top notch.
And seriously, the 'possum, I have two for the Fair already and we are not going to ever make a coat out of 'possum.

I apologize, I drove the wife's Jeep to work this morning and much to my surprise, what is sitting in the passenger side floor, but my box of furs that I thought had been mailed on Tuesday.  Grrr, I'll get them in the mail this afternoon after work!

You guys that are donating the bobcats, make sure they are tagged before you give them to us.
I'll need those cats soon so we can send them out to the tannery so we can get them back to be made up for Miss Rodeo.  Winter Fur Sale / Rendezvous is schedule for March 11, 2017 that is where we give the Fur Garment to Mss Rodeo.

Geez John, you don't give a guy much time. If any of you want to donate something a little later I think we probably have enough tanned fur for the Miss Rodeo vest now. We need stuff for next year though plus like I mentioned earlier we have a couple requests for fur for educational purposes.

We're still taking furs guys and we'll even take them whole and frozen.
I have a couple of guys that will skin and put the fur up for the association.
So if you have something you are thinking of throwing away instead of putting up, put it off to the side for WSTA.  OR put it up for the association and bring it to the Winter Rendezvous.

I just donated three small beavers and two raccoons and I have a couple more that I just picked up.
