No, I'm not advocating the nut and screw thing. Use the original screw that you showed in the original post with the epoxy. Epoxy the hole and the screw, put screw in hole, clean off excess epoxy, allow epoxy to cure, done. As far as the disassemble reassemble, it would be no different then when you take the rifle completely down after hunting season to clean it. I have done this on a couple of rifles and have not had any problems for several years.
Just an idea. You do take your rifles down to parade rest after each season to clean them don't you?
