Shooting location
« on: September 27, 2016, 10:51:30 PM »
Anyone know of a safe place to shoot 300+yards (would really like to get out to 500)
Somewhat close to Tacoma area?

Willing to drive an hour...I'm not military or law enforcement

probably closer to an hour and a half but pe ell sportsmens club has a locked range and steel out to 500m and i think cost you $40 a year.

I shot at the Pe Ell Range last year while I lived in Centralia, and this last year moved to Tacoma where I promptly joined the Upper Nisqually range. It's an hour on the nose from my place, but it has targets out to 550. Pistol range, clay and skeet as well. All sorts of stuff. I got a coupon at the Sportsman's show in Puyallup that knocked off the $100 initiation fee, so it's only $85 a year I think.

Capitol Forest is good if you're looking to just hit the woods.

just avoid the eastern area of CF, seems like every time i go up there, there is more "no target shooting" signs posted.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Range 15 at JBLM or Capitol forest. Drive up in to the hills above alder lake and find more distance than you have caliber. Just depends on how much you want to drive. Just try and stay out of King county.
