If you put in a lot of effort and have a little luck you'll do alright on any mountain up there.  Pick one and go for it.  You'll gather more knowledge in one day with boots on the ground then anyone here is going to give you.  Remember... No one gives up good spots, you have to find them.

Good luck.

Wow that's along ways to go for a deer, especially when you no nothing of the area.  :chuckle:

All public land has deer, some more, some less, you  just have to find them to know the difference.

Just on question. You live I the county that holds the world record for blackies. Why don't you hunt them?  :dunno:

Always recover your deer.  Do not wait for daylight if you cant find it but instead search all night until you find it.  Failure to follow this advice will result in a much smaller deer in the morning and a big fat bear burping venison!
MAGA!  Again..

Wasn't looking for anyone's hot spot just general place to start. I have shot a lot of blacktails. We thought lets go somewhere new. We have the time off so what the heck. If all else fails Ill kill a good blackie when I get home. I'm always up for a new adventure anyway. Thanx for the info on the bears by the way.

Pick a mountain with some elevation where you can get away from roads.  There will be deer, just hunt it smart.  You won't get many chances... Make the ones you get count.
