Sabots for Barnes Spitfire TEZ 290 grain
« on: October 01, 2016, 09:15:36 PM »
I went hunting today- first time with my muzzie- of course it rained!:(
so I wanted to check my powder,so I unloaded it . it had gotten some condensation. Now I have a bullet that has a marked up sabot. If I replace the Sabot, what ones would be a match for this bullet?
They go pretty well in the barrel- so the ones that come with those bullets are fine, but can't seem to find just the sabots.
 Thanks in advance!

I would just reload the bullet and sabot.  I can't imagine it will make a difference.

I highly doubt it will make a difference I say reuse the sabot!

Or use a new bullet for hunting, and use the "used" one for target practice

use it for a practice bullet if the sabot has a chunk missing then don't use it because you can get bullet not straight and it could mess up barrel.  Try grabing a new sabot and bullet for your hunt.  sure would suck to miss because you wanted to save a $1 on a bullet!  When a day in the woods and a tank of gas costs more then that bullet.

Talked to Connie at MMP- she said the black HPH-24 are the correct sabots, and it is okay to re-use unfired sabots.
Just thought I'd update!
