Opening morning of muzzy season my buddy and I found ourselves overlooking a big clear cut with a stand of big timber on the far side. after hearing some movement below us, my buddy spots 2 cows working their way toward the big timber, several minutes later a bull steps out of the timber and works his way towards an abandoned logging landing on the other side of the big timber and disappears as he rounds the landing around 700 yards away. We knew that there was a road that lead to above the landing where we last saw the bull so we decided that was are best chance at closing the distance to the bull. as we closed in on the area where we last saw the bull, we peak over the landing to see the two cows making their way through the reprod about 400 yards below us, knowing the bull has to be close we continue glassing to try and spot him. about ten minutes pass and we start hearing branches breaking below us between the big timber and reprod it keeps getting closer. after several minutes antler tips start showing through the reprod. he keeps walking straight towards us. at about 20yards I click the safety off,he stops at about 15 yards staring at us knowing something isn't right. Boom! as the smoke clears we can hear him running through the big timber for about 200 yards until we hear a big crash. after reloading and giving him time, we make our way down to him. still in shock over the whole situation and can't thank my buddy Matt enough for the help
