Friends 08 Black-Tail
« on: February 10, 2009, 07:10:44 PM »
Second to last day a friend and I headed up in the higher elevations to finish out the season after reaching the top of some mountains I sat down and started glassing spotted one Deer right away around 2 miles or so figured a little to far for a shot. We picked up there and started making our way around the mountain found a nice place to settle in picked up the Bino's and less then two minutes had this buck spotted walking on the edge of the timber got up to by buddy to get his attention, got him on the buck he got down on a rock we ranged the buck at 430 yards we watched for about five minutes then decided he was good enough. The buck gave him a great broadside shot at 410 yards and he let the deer have it.

The Pack out ended up to be like four miles, We were hunting one side of the mountain and shot the buck in the bottom of the other side. So yeah we had our hands full walked down a valley and beat brush along ways until we poped out on a road. Got cell servise and made call for somebody to pick us up. We were like 12 miles from the truck.
