Green Water FS70 Coyote Hunting
« on: October 07, 2016, 10:30:09 AM »
I am curious, has anyone here ever hunted the Green Water area specifically around FS70? Most of the land is Hancock controlled but $80.00 a year to hunt it is reasonable if there is something to hunt.
I tried it not long ago on a crappy rainy day using an electronic caller and it was a fruitless effort. I am thinking about trying it again and probably will if someone here has had any luck there. I only tried down low in an area close to the first yellow bridge on the left as you drive in from 410.

I've always wanted tto try up on top just before and just after you go over the top.  Up in the meadows and the big burn at the top.

My wife and I went up there last month just to see if I wanted to hunt there sometime. We got as far as the Y and she got scared because she is afraid of heights, I'll confess it made me a little nervous as well. It appears that the right Y has to be done by foot and supposedly it flattens out into meadows once on top. I haven't a clue where the left Y ends up.

Went in the beginning of September for grouse. Lots of friendly Elk. Too many people I think. Haven't spent much time up there.

That is kind of the story anywhere you try to hunt on this side of the pass...just too many people/hunters. I am going to give it another try later this week. I livw in South Hill Puyallup, we have a lot of them running around but unfortunately breaking out my AR is out of the question :-(
