Shameless info request - eastside

I'm looking to try to put in some time learning Mulie and or whitetail hunting.  I love my blackies over here, but enjoy expanding my horizons to other opportunities in the state.  I'm hunting modern firearm.  My hunting ideals are hopefully you don't see me and I don't see you (I know not always easy or possible in MF season, but I'm willing to walk miles and miles to avoid a crowd). 

I don't mind putting in hard hours and miles to learn an area, just hoping for a GMU or general area to maybe check out with a decent chance of filling a tag.  I'm more about the meat and experience than a trophy.  I like to backpack hunt or hike long loops in a day stopping to glass when needed.  So car camping or backcountry camping nearby preferred.  Also looking for somewhat open country (compared to coastal rainforest jungle at least).

Would appreciate any info or insights.  Hoping to make a blind run for a few days this season, just for fun.  I just like an adventure👍

Find a big chunk of public or national forest in a gmu and get after it. Search
Washington trails, it has lots of info in it.

People on here are pretty secretive with areas, even more so once you get on the other side of the mountains. If it were me, I'd start with Game Harvest stats and hit the GMU with the highest success % that you don't mind driving to. I know this is really basic info... unless you run across someone really generous(and if you do let me know! ) thats pretty much what you'll have to go on

  Hard to get started without a few hints!
We saw a lot of does in GMU 154, which also has a lot of landowner access available (on the GoHunt WDFW site), when we were turkey hunting in September.

I about spit water on my screen over that one There be deer in these hills but see SPECIAL NEW * IN HUNTING REGS REGARDING 382 AND HUNTING 388 might not be to bad of bet if you can get in a good ways.

Look up around Republic / Curlew area.  Gets you far enough away from any of the bigger WA state cities.

I know there's no free lunch in hunting - just looking for really general areas/type of land to check out.  I'll probably go to some of the areas I'm somewhat familiar with from wildland firefighting.  At least a few roads to get in on and see where I can get back a ways.

Yep the Simcoe mountains (Unit 388) are full of those big bucks, I have relatives that hunt there and are always getting 24" wide plus racked bucks with heavy massed antlers.

Find a map with lots of public land and throw a dart at it... if you're as hard of a worker as you claim to be then you shouldn't have any problem finding deer.
