GIANT ROSY BULL ELK VIDEO.
« on: October 09, 2016, 06:02:06 AM »
I put together this outdoor video and I'd like to hear your opinion about it. Please share your thoughts the good, the bad, the ugly about it. I'm already working on the second video for this winter and would like to add your suggestions.

Cool video. Can't wait to see the one where you stick one of those bull's about 3/4 of the way through. I  like the ride the wind part of the song, not the never coming back again.
Lead em if they're running.

Personally I didn't like the music. I wanna hear elk in an elk video, hear the sounds of the woods
https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

Personally I didn't like the music. I wanna hear elk in an elk video, hear the sounds of the woods

Ditto with emphasis!  I turned off the sound as soon as the music started and kept it off except to check to see if it was still going.  The best sound was the great capture of the bull bugle and chuckle at the beginning.

Great footage of Roosevelt bulls!  That part is extremely well done.

The main reason I don't bother with most game videos is the stupid music, nearly all of them copying each other's ideas to put music with the footage. You can be more creative.  Less is more.  Pure elk -- vocalizing, walking, being silent.  I don't go to the woods to hear music.  The animals don't need background music to hold my interest.  Live animal sounds would be best but that is hard to capture.  A smidge of narration about the context of the particular animal would beat music for my interest.  I.e time of day, time of year that each bull is in view, sound of the bull racking his antlers, what's going on etc.  Don't over talk it with constant natter but minimal narration about the context of the visual adds a lot more than irrelevant music.

Awesome footage.  Great animals.  Not a fan of the music, but if the video is for you and that's the music that gets your blood pumping, more power to you.  Personally, I fell in to a trance watching those big Rosies and shut the music out.  Thanks for sharing.

Great footage of some amazing animals.
For me I'm not a fan of the music. I'm ok with some low instrumental music to build emotion and excitement but NO WORDS. Good job though.
