49 degrees cow
« on: October 10, 2016, 12:24:51 PM »
Short version:
She showed herself one too many times on an open hillside.  I knew moose were big animals.  I expected to be amazed at the size if I was able to knock one down.......Holy crap, actually walking up on it is almost overwhelming knowing whats ahead!
In the 2nd pic, she is down on the left and the bull she was with is on top.  Weather moved in and it got nasty just in time for packing meat.  Last pic is a bull we saw.  Sorry about the quality of the pic, its a cell pic through the spotter at about 1300 yards.
I couldn't have gotten this done with out the help of my hunting partner Wazzu99.  Thanks for taking a week off and helping me get her out!
It was great to meet other forum members up there hunting as well;  blindluck, mtndew, and elkaholic123.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world.  Was a great hunt but not an easy hunt for sure.  Great meeting all the other members and trying to help everyone fill their tags.  I too wasn't ready for the size of these beasts.  The head alone was 3 feet long and took a separate pack trip to haul out!  I still have muscles in my legs that hurt that I didn't even know I had....
