Seems like in a normal year, I'd hear at least 10 - 12 shots prior to 0900.  From reports so far, it sounds like the weather kept hunters out of the woods and/or deer hunkered down.  Not a ton of shooting anyways.

Tomorrow looks like it should still be good conditions.  Hope a nice three-point makes an appearance for your daughter.
I hope so but she has her mind set on a certain 4X5 that I mistakenly told her about.  :chuckle:  It turns out that a rock took out my sensor.  :bash:  We will be back on the hill an hour before daylight waiiting for "moose" to show his grey old mug.

PolarBear - in big timber on a ridge?   I've forgotten the setup.

Rain followed by wind on top, went lower and found a few does only.
Watched upwards of 50 trucks crawling around inside the vail side of Weyerhaeuser.  I thought honking your horn at a truck that was blocking a viewpoint on a clearcut was in bad taste, but with 800 permits just what do you expect?
Will hike in again tomorrow.

I was in the woods in the Ashford area from 0530 to 1730. Saw a total of 2 cows. There were a lot less hunters out than I am used to seeing.

Saw 8 does in three different groups, no bucks, lots of hunters. Retreated to town at dark, I'm not camping in this crap for the sake of 4 talons of gas!

Was up around Nahahum canyon in Cashmere and saw about 15 does and 1 group had a 2x2 chasing around with 4 other does. Around 8:30AM. Shots fired around Burch Mountain where it seems a lot of people go opening weekend. The rain started to hit hard about 10:00AM and rode it out til noon then decided to get back to the truck, then headed up to chumstick mountain and the rode was waaay torn up and slick as snot! Worse thing was the fog up high... Only a few other hunters though, so gotta love that!

Was doing more scouting for my bull tag than deer hunting today.  6 does, 3 of them with fawns.  1 button buck and passed on a small legal deer. I would of shot him if I wasn't 4+ miles from the wilderness boundary. Snowed like hell above 5000' and pissed like a European race horse below 5000'. Seen lots of elk and 2 coyotes. Good day having the area to myself.

I was out in the shelton area, heard one shot about 8ish and nothing else thru 11:30.  no deer to be seen, but plenty of hunters.

Had to come out of the woods early because a sensor went out on my truck.  Should be up and at it tomorrow. We did pass on 3 bucks before it all went south.  Sticking to our 3 point or better rule throughout the season.

Hope you get that sensor fixed up soon. Good going on letting the youngins grow  :)
Thanks.  Headed to my mechanic right now.  He thinks it will be done by the end of the day.  I was proud to see my daughter pass on a decent 2 point.  She has the November rut tag for Skoocumchuck and I have a multi-season deer so we have a ton of time left.

Funny story now that I've commented about your sensor my o2 sensor went out on me as I warmed the truck up this morning.  :bash: looks like mid week hunt will be on hold until tomorrow. Sunday I head over to Eastern wa for big bull tag and there is still 3 days of mulie hunting there. So we shall see what that brings.
I might head into capital Forrest this evening. I got my 4x4 with eye guards there last year
