Ears down, loose, not tracking surrounding inputs

Great job on the follow and find.  Cabelas (Bass Pro?) should at least send a big gift card.

I thought the same, and have very little experience. He seemed to have trouble keeping his ears up when normally all you'd see is satellite ears.

He's not much into writing, will try to get him to post something in the Youth Board tomorrow or I will post the photos.  Here is a video link.  It is the first time I have ever gotten a good clear one at th shot.  Also the first time using illuminated nocks... my arrows will be getting these soon.

I say in the video it might be a little far back, but the buck was facing slightly away, and the shot was perfect.  We only waited long enough to grab the bolt before we started tracking.
Awesome video! Glad you got a good view.

Wow!   Nice pass-through shot!  Smoked him!

We had one doe behind the house we called donkey doe because we never saw her ears up, but I don't think this guy was unusual.  One thing to remember is that the deer here in general are not on pins and needles like on the mainland since we don't have any large predators besides us. And, even people and dogs don't seem to bother them all that much often times, especially when there are some tasty apples needing to be eaten.

However, who knows, there could be some genetic component to it.

Great job on the follow and find.  Cabelas (Bass Pro?) should at least send a big gift card.

I wish....   :chuckle:

Awesome hunt! Congrats to your son, and to you for raising a fine hunter! Loved the videos that went along with the pictures, too.

That's awesome!
