Agree with Coach. VX 3's are good scopes.

I've seen way to many vortex have to go in for repairs to trust them on my rifle. If a spotter fails it doesn't ruin your hunt. If your scope fails you might miss the buck of a lifetime.

I'm a leupold fan. That being said I picked up a vortex last year because I was short on cash, and I like it pretty well.  Definitely get your 4200 fixed, though. Those are good scopes.

Mounted my vx6 4-24 last nite. Twice your budget but nice scope.  Took off a good vx3  3.5-10 if u dont mind lil paint missing - 2 bills it would get u by.

@Magnum_Willys how are you liking the VX6 4x24?  That is what I am looking at but have yet to actually put my hands on one.  The size seems a bit extreme but the few I have seen mounted did not seem overly big.

The VX3 would be a great replacement  :tup:
