Too early for decoys?

I was thinking about getting a Mule Deer doe decoy, putting down a doe in estrus scent trail to it and hanging out 150 yards or so down wind, for the second weekend of Modern here in Central WA. Do you guys think it's too early for pre-rut tactics?

I actually saw a few bucks sparring this weekend, not sure what that was all about. :dunno:

I tried some rattling on a couple spots after sitting for a while and getting bored but no responses.
