Pretty much what was predicted. People at about a all time high. Deer numbers way way lower than the last few years. Only saw 4 dead deer around beaver creek. 2 were does. Not good

Worst deer numbers I have seen in my lifetime.  If there are any left, weather might bring some in and the rut is starting early like everything else.

Not a single deer hanging mid day yesterday on the entire Entire East Chewuch Road from top to bottom. Lots and lots of camps too.

Twisp river road area was a zoo and I'm not even talking about Thompson ridge!
Every thought of my being is in regards to being a high tech predator and I relish the role.

Tough going in the area.  At one point I counted 10 guys glassing a spike in one draw.  Sketchy situation.

I was in Bear and Beaver Creek. I can't remember more hunters in one place ever in my fifty years. 10-30 vehicles at every gate. These units need to be draw only IMO.

Really sad to hear...going to have an impact on future quality permits I'm sure.  Explains why I've seen less guys blacktail hunting.

There needs to be a special permit for the bio up here. It'd go unfilled though, because you'd never see him. What a disgrace to us all. :twocents:

I stopped by the free deer skinning place just outside Twisp about 2:00 PM on Sunday to see how many they had done. At that point they had skinned over 50 deer!

This has been said many times in this forum. But with an irresponsible wildlife Biologist in the area giving poor information to the WDFW the once thriving herd's demise is a given. It's truly a shame that this is allowed to happen. Keep giving out those doe permits and allocating more late hunt permits at the expense of wildlife!!

THE WORLD NEEDS MORE PEOPLE HOLDING DEER IN PICTURES...
