yep...but your effective range is limited and it is hard finding factory turkey loads for those.

20 gauge is really the practical minimum.

I know this is dumb but when i lived in kamiah ,ID my (highschool) friends and i would catch the young turkeys by hand and then let them go for grins . besides they roost on top of the houses at night and my house was on main st. they are definitely not a challenge to "hunt" there.

There are towns all over the west that have that same issue.  Roosting in near towns...if they are wild turkeys they are probably there because of someone feeding them...they get accustomed to coming into certain areas even after the hatch.  There are also tame turkey that people released because they wanted turkeys to hunt.  These usually are game farm stock ordered out of a catalog.  I have seen this first hand in our state.   In your case in Kamiah there are wild turkeys in that area and they were probably there due to habitat or something...who knows,  There are times of the year that turkeys can seem tame.  Many problems occur from people trying to domesticate them.   Keep chasing them poults that is probably good for them...growl like a coyote too...If you do it again take video...one of those things you don't see everyday.   :chuckle:
