It's illegal to shoot from roads on National Forest land, regardless of what the state law says. There is a federal law that applies to shooting from forest service roads.

I can't imagine the number of tickets given out to grouse hunters then... Not the true, die-hard grouse type, so you people, don't get offended.

I could be wrong; but I would bet if they put the cougar on public 75% of the rigs that came by would shoot. On a deer I think it would be lower depending on the size of horns. I read an article recently on the robo deer they put out in Oregon. The picture was of a tall 28" wide 4 point. I'm not sure many would drive by that either. :dunno:

Drawing that tag then messing up that bad when you know darn well many eyes will be on you.  What is the name of this tag holder?  Is there a dedicated thread to this unfolding story?  It will be interesting to hear the tag holders side of the situation.

Probably shouldn't be posting anyone's name. Just throwing that out there.

2 of the last 3 times I have been hunting, motocyclists have been going around locked gates, clearly posted for walk in only, blowing by me. I am very happy to see and hear about wardens out and about. I filmed the last two bikers, but they didn't have plates. I was more than happy to toss several logs in there way on my way out.

Piss on poachers.

I think when he said "bikers" he meant motorcycle riders.  If they are breaking rules to get to game animals then yes they are poachers.  They are stealing opportunity from everyone that follows the rules.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

There were a pair of fake deer on the side of the road in my neck of the woods last weekend.  Both Saturday and Sunday mornings before daylight in the exact same spot.   It was Painfully obvious they were fakes.   It is Good to see fish and wildlife enforcing hunting laws.  I just wish they would target all poachers instead of only the blind, or drunk ones.   :chuckle:

A few years back they were hitting the Upper Beaver Creek area out of Twisp hard... Opening weekend they had the deer set up on the gravel road under an old apple tree. They were getting mad cause people were stopping and taking selfies with it :chuckle: :chuckle: MONSTER buck just out of shooting hours. They also had a full mounted bear set up with his head in the bushes... We sat off out of the way and watched several people slam on the brakes and check it out. It was the middle of the day with a camp right by, never saw them bust anyone, but fun to watch. They had tons of Fish and Wildlife Officers from other areas helping. It was the strongest Wildlife Officer presence I've ever seen... I liked it. Really thins out the shady people.
THE WORLD NEEDS MORE PEOPLE HOLDING DEER IN PICTURES...
AND LESS PEOPLE HOLDING CAMERAS IN FRONT OF BATHROOM MIRRORS.
