Ok guys, need to nip the whole "broken permit system" in the bud.  First off the results from two years ago where not validated.  Official notice was not sent out, nothing was posted on the website.  The results that some people saw were not official, and were gained by a loophole in the system (that has since been closed).  See my explanation about last years drawing at http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,8734.0.html.

Also main reason why this year's pamphlet and what not is coming out a month earlier is due to the fact that we are printing the pamphlet in house, and not sending it to a vendor.  We are also able to use the work on the game management package to streamline the pamphlet process.  Belive it or not but the surveys we've done have shown people wanted the dates to stay roughly the same.
Disclaimer:  These are not the views of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.  These are the thoughts of one person written off the clock who formally worked for WDFW.

Good post inside.  If most people want the draw dates to remain the same then they suck.  Earlier the better.  For me it's like having Christmas postponed for a month.  I get more excited for the the special permit drawings to come out then I do for Christmas.  Any one else feel that way?

If anything I think they will bring in LESS money at least this first year of the earlier deadline, because many people will not buy their applications on time. A lot of people had trouble meeting the deadline when it was in June. I see this as a benefit to me and other dedicated hunters, as this should improve my chance of drawing a good permit. I think I'm due for a moose tag this year.
I'm hoping so. Maybe I will get my big bull tag and my Moose tag.  :)
