I am hunting upland birds 11.16-11.20 SE of Billings
Will be fishing the Big Horn River as well

I just got back from a trip. I did 3 trips to Montana this year, two trips for elk and a trip for mule deer. Harvested an elk on day 11 and mule deer a few hours into the hunt. The mule deer are rutting like crazy, whitetail had not started rutting yet where I was as of yesterday.

I had planned on leaving Friday but with how warm it is i'm not leaving until Monday now.

Any recent reports on Western Montana?  I'm trying to figure out if I should go next weekend or Thanksgiving weekend.  Hoping to catch the whitetail rut.

I'm heading out tomorrow morning for a week of whitetail. supposed to snow a little weds. But it's been too warm as everyone knows. I'll b hunting the swampier areas. been picking on 130 and 140 bucks.. we'll see.

We'll be leaving on the 16th and hopefully be back by Thanksgiving. Looking at the weather reports I'd wait until Thanksgiving if you are short on time.
