it seems to me this thread got jacked. Shouldn't there be another topic on weather it was seized or not? Doesn't seem fair to the poster especially if there was no wrong doing. Mods?
I don't see this as thread jacking, jack! If it was seized then it is part of the story so then there is nothing wrong with it being posted in this thread

how is it not a thread jack the poster didn't say his relatives bull was seized for trespassing. JACK!!!

That particular area mentioned by a poster is very well posted, well mapped and subject to clear conditions of entry.  If a local guide or helper was along wherever in the universe this animal was harvested, perhaps they have some info and details to share here?  OP sure being pretty quiet.

I'm not up on this tech stuff, but if I understand this correctly, the coordinates can be pulled directly from a photo posted on this thread? How do you find the coordinates from looking at a picture? Very interesting, if they knowingly were hunting on land not open to them, wouldn't they take pictures with an old school camera? Putting all this together it seems, if they were on land not open to them, the could have gotten spun around not realizing they entered a closed area.

I agree...

Damn Mr. Mykiss, now I finally know what type of cameras poachers pack around with them.

True dat. That dude in the picture is solely responsible for the elk herd decline in Yellowstone, not wolves.

The pack out pic sure has some gps info embedded in it. My iPhone shows exactly where it was taken.  :twocents:

the second picture from the top has GPS in the metadata. looks to be a field photo of where it was killed.

Maybe it's time to do away with the success thread photos if anyone can get gps data off then. Maybe draw a picture of your buck or bull from now on.

You can disable the function in your phone.  Go to "Privacy" and it's in there.

Lol, simple to turn that data off when taking pics. Great tool for catching law breakers. This has been going on for years.
