cougar kill
« on: October 29, 2016, 03:40:13 PM »
So my brothers and I were out in manashtash near Tamarack doing a little scouting and a little shed hunting when i came across something i have never seen before. It was a big circle of bare forest floor and a big pile of brush in the middle. Upon further review i notice a hoof and part of a deer leg sticking out. I dont know why but i start to get a little nervous knowing that some beast is not far away. I call my brother on the Rhino and explain what i have found. He tells me to pull it out from the pile to see what it is. After a litlle hesitation I start to dig at it with my trekking poles, i hit horn!  Sweet a buck!  Pull it out and turns out to be a little 2 point muley. After a few more calls on the Rhino my brothers come to see this sweet find. We notice that its a super fresh kill and still bleeding from the puncture wounds on its neck and throat. We decide to go back to camp a return with the trail cam. Got some sweet pics and video of a beautiful cat. Wish i could have harvested it!  Date and time are wrong on cam. Not sure how that happened. Correct date is september 10 2016 when i found it. She came back that night! Make sure to click on youtube playlist at the bottom for footage.
