I just called him again...said fuel pressure was fine, defiantly  has no spark. Said he will drive it when its done, and re check the fuel pressure... thanks for all the help everyone...glad to have good questions to ask when I talk to him. My boy made the 10u Rep A hockey team as an 8yo, and the Tahoe gets us to the rinks when the weather is bad. So its gotta run!! Once again...I do appreciate all the good advice!!

I had that smae engine and did my own tune-up with available parts at autozone.  8 months later I was having same issues as you.  Started running funny then came out and it wouldn't even start.  Took to mechanic after I couldn't figure it out and he said it was cap and rotor.  I said no way I just did that.  He said they were cheap parts.  He replaced and I didn't have anymore issues.  Needless to say no more cheap parts for me.

Two friends had 1999's. One was at 325,000 last time I saw it and another was at 275,000. Both had trannys done but, nothing else. Damn good trucks
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."
Theodore Roosevelt 1899
