Because I'd kill him in the Kiabab, Sonora, Alberta, the Pauns, in 45, the Henry's, anywhere I had a tag.   Bases like that, eye guards, his age, size, square frame.  The way he acts.  I wouldn't care if he was a forkie.  Old recessed buck.  Old gray ghost.
If that doesn't meet your criteria....sorry.   The fact I had to explain it means it doesn't.   That's fine.

Thanks for the response on why you think it's a world class buck.

I feel like a world class buck is one any hunter anywhere would target. And most hunters aren't going to target that buck in any of the places you listed. It's an old regressed buck. Lots of old regressed bucks get killed every year. Nothing world class about them.

Regards, Branden

We get it.....you wall is filled with world class bucks Branden.  Some of us hunters consider lesser bucks (in your eyes) world class.  I am super glad we all feel differently about what world class is.....otherwise we would all be chasing the same deer.   ;)  I think you made your point loud and clear....you would not kill a deer of this caliber as it is below you.  Rather than throw stones and then be passive agressive by saying thanks and regards.....just post pics of some of your world class bucks so the forum can enjoy your post as much as they enjoy bones.

Cheers   :brew:

I never said I wouldn't kill it. I said I wouldn't kill it on any of the world class units bone listed. Big difference. I also said its a mature buck. I just think the thread title is very very misleading. World class means among the best in the world. Sorry that deer doesn't have the most mass, tine length, width, anything to make it among the best in the world.

Again it's a mature buck, but nothing about it is "best in the world or among best in the world".

I posted video of some bucks and bulls I've seen this year. None were "world class" though.  ;)

Regards, Branden.

Glad we got that covered about what constitutes someone's perception of a world class buck.  Apparently, it's not a term to use loosely.

Thanks for sharing the pics Bone!  I've spent a fair amount of time out there and locating some of those old bruisers isn't as easy as everyone thinks it is.  We have similar taste Bone.  I've  been blessed to shoot some big bucks, but unique factor often rates higher than score for me.  I'd  highly consider that buck for his white faced cape alone.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I would necessarily take him over a 200 inch buck, but I would take him over a 175"er.  I've seen the rack of a huge two point with eye guards that is "Buck of justice" like.  I told the Taxi doing the work on that buck that I would rate him in the top five of all the Bucks  I have ever seen in WA.   Character may not matter to everyone, but it does to me😀

Bone, are you sure those pix are of the same buck? The first one the antlers look way darker, of course that might be from lighting. But the brow tines also seem smaller on the first picture. Different angles, but the first one they look uniform and the second one, one has a pretty noticeable curve and one has a big lump on it. I was thinking maybe you found two nice bucks.

Bone -- fantastic pics!!  World class or not, rez or not, same deer or not.  Who the F*&* cares?!  Great deer, great pics.  Keep it up and thanks for sharing with those of us who appreciate the beauty of the outdoors.  Sure glad I didn't post the pic of my "trophy" on this site.

Agree.
Check out the extra eyeguard on the left side. Same buck.

Thank you everybody!   Id love to see it Tapp.  Im not worried about it.  I know what he is getting at, but its just a thread title.  I feel quite comfortable with what deer I see, and the deer I hunt, and the deer I have.  Some are even officially world class, lol.   Im glad folks get that sometimes there is more to a deer and the hunt than just a score.

I am happy folks still enjoy my pics.  THank you!

Pretty sure its  same buck.  The extra point coming off that mainbeam is pretty rare.  I did note the change in color of the antlers from the previous day.  I assumed it was the rain.
