We will be staying in a hotel in pierce, be prepared for really cold weather if your dry camping. You are on the right track, I will pm you when I can, it's already going to be crowded over there.
When are you headed over trophy? My dad has been hunting the area for 20+ years and 2 years ago we bought a lot in town and built a cabin, so nice to be able to get back at night and shower and dry the clothes out quickly. I'll be headed over the 10th but man i hope the weather cools off by then. If you see a green chevy flag me down
We are going over on the 16th-21st and staying at a hotel next to the big store.  Never stayed there before, it's so cheap I hope it has a floor!!!  :chuckle: you can't miss my lifted gmc silver truck w canopy.

Pretty busy where we hunt over there but if you get off the roads you wont see anyone. Hopefully the forecast will change before you leave and they'll get some snow over there. I would get yourself a rattle bag and a bleat can too. Last year we rattled in 3 of the 4 bucks we killed over there. Good luck, its a lot of fun.

I'm confused on how many Potlatch permits I need. It's me and a buddy and we're taking 1 truck and probably 2 ATVs. So all we need is 1 permit plus the 2 ATV permits, correct? They're not making it very clear to me. Anyone who has knowledge on these Potlatch permits feel free to chime in.

I will be going over this year as well for the first time, bringing the wall tent. Nov 13-19
Hopefully this will help.  I emailed potlatch a very similar question just the other week.  Things have changed for me a little but this question still applies to your question.

Request:
After reading through your frequently asked questions I am still confused on what permit I need for Idaho.  We have three guys not related in one truck with  3 four wheelers. We plan on parking by a gate and using four wheelers to access potlatch land.  Do we just need three four wheeler permits? Is the truck ok without one since its outside gated roads?

Response:
Thanks for your inquiry. You would need 3 ATV permits, and if the truck is parked on Potlatch property, you would need a passenger vehicle permit as well. The permits can all be purchased under one user account, so each person does not need to create a separate account.

The way I understand this is:
the walk-in permit ~$11
Four wheeler ~$27 covers driver and the Four wheeler
Vehicle ~$55 covers the driver and truck

Ah okay. That makes sense. Parking the truck at the gate (on their property) and riding the 4-wheelers in is what my plan is as well. Perfect.

Been doing it for about 8 years. It can get chilly but my -30 sleeping bag keeps me warm. Finally got a wood stove this year :chuckle:
