I've never hunted the rut so I have no idea when it is. I'm an archery guy so the boys are still buddy buddy with each other when I hunt them. Late archery season starts the 20th. Will the rut still be happening in Yakima & Klickitat counties?
God Bless,
Scott

I have talked to a few very reliable sources for that GMU specifically. there in the chase phase. fresh scrapes and tons of sign. also they have noticed the fawns are without mom. should be good. but agree with posts above, they don't begin rut until last few days of season, and after! wish we could hunt thanksgiving weekend that's the best time (peak rut) but hey that's my opinion!!

Usually around the 18th going strong.

We used to hunt the last week of late rifle every year and it always seemed that the rut started to kick into gear the last few days and through first week or two of late archery.

I'm in the same boat wondering when... Bought new property in NE Wa this June. First thing we did is put up camera's. Plenty of doe's running around, but only a few buck sightings and they have been weeks apart. All the doe's had fawns this year, so I know the bucks are making their way through, but when they are not local to the property, you have no scrapes or rubs. So i'm sitting here with my wife... she has a rifle tag, wondering when it will start. Next few minutes, tonight, or next week? I know it will happen, just can't wait to see one working the edge of the field or sneaking through the trees! I'll be hunting late archery, can't wait.

Let us know when you are seeing NE Wa activities starting.

It will pop shortly.  They are up and moving around during daylight hours.  About a week earlier than it popped last year by my observations.  Which makes sense as everything else popped early this year
