Idaho elk, first year out of state
« on: November 07, 2016, 01:31:17 PM »
Left out for Idaho Saturday the 22nd with my dad and father-in-law 9 hours later we got to Idaho.  My uncle in law drove down from Lewiston to meet us.  Put on a lot of miles in 8 days on our feet and trucks.  Finally found the elk after 5 days of hiking and climbing.  Me and my dad went back to back Saturday and Sunday.  This was my first elk and my dads first cow.  Next year will be a predicament as we all should be able to draw cow tags or quality bull in WA, but we'll be going back to Idaho for sure.

How many points do you have for cow/quality elk?

average for the group might be 6 cow points, maybe 7/8 for quality.

It has been a great year for hunting.  Spending time hunting and around the camp fire with family.  Eric(BiggMayn) put your old game cart to use, good thing it is a heavy duty game cart.
