Well what weight arrow for blue wildebeest
« on: November 10, 2016, 06:16:26 PM »
So you never know might go to Africa and take my bow. 70lb 30" draw shooting 470grn arrows at 290fps be enough for a wildebeest? I'd guess they would be like a elk in mass and bone. A good broad head would be key too. I use radsav mad man broadheads but think I'd switch to the titanium for this hunt. Experience advise welcome.

I think you'll be fine.  I'm guessing that elk are a slightly bigger animal.

I'm thinking of hunting warthog with the bow and impala with the rifle. My hunt is for impala and warthog.

was over there in June... got warthog, impala, blesbuck, nyalla, and wildebeest...  70 lb bow, 455 gr arrows, shuttle T broadheads... only one I didn't get a pass thru was the wildebeest... did get both lungs, and he ran about 70 yards, and yes they are about the size of a nice elk... but they have a tuff hide...  your set up will be fine but, stick with fixed bladed heads... no expandables...
