I've actually heard the same thing about a full break down and polish. might be worth a few weeknights to try to salvage it  :twocents:

That's pretty funny because I was going to raise the bid by going $106 and saying he didn't need to take the MAGA hat off your hands,      :chuckle:

870s are great as long as they are clean and dry - not so awesome for western wa this time of year.  My 1998 870 jams all the time when it gets wet or the smallest amount of dirt or grass anywhere near it.

Must be the newer guns, my 1963 still works great, rain, shine, mud, saltwater or snow.....

Why not get the new gun, then send the 870 in for service?

Agree with lokidog, my wingmaster took everything in stride temps I n the teens, mud sand. Only thing it would not cycle was Winchester XXX shells.

Hold Remington to the fire and test out Benelli.

I looked at 1 of the kids 870's new this year and the slide was already worn out maybe 100 rounds threw it.like said i would buy the Nova then send this 1 to Rem. to get fixed.  :twocents:

That's crazy for the slide to wear out that fast!!!

My sons all have many hundreds to over a thousand rounds apiece thru them with no such issues......   knock on wood!

Had the same shooting 3-1/2" shells. Chamber was rough. Took a chamber brush in a drill with 00 steel wool and gun oil. Polished chamber and where rim of shell sits in barrel. Machine marks left from factory was crabbing the rim after firing do to expansion. Also changed out magazine follower to an aluminum one and the away the plastic factory one. It solve the problem.
Nothing like a Remington model 700xcr.

Supermags... always had the impression this has been a issue from the start.  More than a couple guys I knew had this issue when they first came out.

Man, after reading all of this, I feel really fortunate that my sons all have working Ultramags.......

I'd be really torqued if I experienced what the OP was showing.
