Great trip to Montana
« on: November 13, 2016, 09:43:07 PM »
Just got back from a week of hunting  took a good friend and his son with me and my son the buck a starting to rut pretty good we seen about 20 -30 + buck per day and some real monsters  my buddy tagged out the first two hours there on this 4x4  then his son finally filled his tag on this 3x3 hit it at 500 yards  on buck number 5 or 6  earned the name yosimity Sam  the cartoon.  I took this nice big boddyed 3x3 with igards  was hiking back out of the timber with my son and he walked in front of us  50' shot  the 1/2 mile pack out  my son was being picky. On the third night he missed one of the largest muleys I've ever seen 5x6 the would score over 230  we seen about 4-6 bucks a day around the size of my sons  1-2 miles away   Friday we bedded a buck around 170 class on the left side of the drainage try to get below to make a plan and my son spots this buck on the right side takes 2 500 yard shots miss. Watch it go into a gully and stay so we made a stock on it as we were making the stock we herd a shot from the top ridge as we get to the spot we wanted looking over the top 3. Guys we're comming down from the top. We figured that they shot it  so we watch them for a bit  then my son said there he is going to the right so I range him at 480 yards so he take a couple of shots misses then win I was watching his shots .3big bulls come out of this gully as they suprized each other the buck started to come down the draw in front of us . I told him to wait it's comming down waited till 300 yards an dropped it  .one proud dad and son  buy the time we had the buck down we were about a 1/2 mile in  it was a great tim with great friends  and to top the trip off . My son and I went white tail doe hunting on some block management property what do do we in the field laying ther 2 white tail bucks that was between 130 -160 class laying there in the feild and we're tagged out.  Can't wait for next year

Nice bucks. Sounds like Yosemite Sam brought along enough ammo to get the job done.

Ended up having to make two trips to get him out but was relieved to find him fully intact and  untouch that next morning. Was worried about them damn Coyotes. Made the drive home a little easier.
