Slap on a parka and goggles, and we're good to take the lift down.

I don't see how this is a bad business move.He got on here and explained his side and to me it's what I wanted to here it sounds exactly how I thought it would.Sorry but I think the Miller party misunderstood what to expect. They heard what they wanted to hear but it was not what was told to them.I don't think wpo owed them anything and went above and beyond by offering them another hunt

When your attacked don't you feel the need to try and defend yourself?

The area is called hog back basin and its beyond the ski area, we dont like to put our camps right were your going to be hunting at. And as far as bad business by giving my side of the story, I just dont see it that way . I am already booked for the 2017 season, but thanks for your concern. I find this whole thing a bit funny , due to if the Millers would have got those two smaller bulls none of this would have even been a concern were the camp was. Thanks to all the positive people out there and good luck on all your hunting adventures !!!

I deleted my post to not give out too much detail of your camp location if you want to edit your post to do the same, out of respect for your business and others that might hunt the area. I was just trying to get a better picture of the scenario.

I've got absolutely no skin in the game here but from an outsiders perspective with no knowledge of either party involved, comments like

"And as far as bad business by giving my side of the story, I just dont see it that way . I am already booked for the 2017 season, but thanks for your concern. do nothing but fan the flames, in my opinion.  I learned long ago, especially in business, no matter what you say, you're not going to change some peoples way of thinking.  Reach the ones that matter and let the other small percentage take their pot shots from the cheap seats.  If certain people have a problem with you, let it be their problem, don't make their problem, your problem.  I'm all for defending your position and I think you did that with your first explanation, any comments beyond that only fan the flames for those that no matter what you say or do, will never be enough.

Just my  :twocents:

I appreciate you coming on here and communicating with us, your potential future customers. I'm more likely to book a hunt with you now than if you had remained silent. The fact that you're not afraid of posting on a public forum means a lot to me, and also that you are giving your clients another hunt to make up for the one that did not meet their expectations.

Being an outfitter is a tough gig.

People have very high expectations.

...First thing; It was a hour ride up hill by horseback not 2 tenths of a mile...

Six thing; As far as communications go, the group leader called me  a number of times asking the same questions over and over again, even after I told him all the information is on my website. And during there hunt he also called or texted me every day. I talked to him more than my wife that week...

Here's a picture of there camp a week later...

My only concerns about the experience, if I were looking for a pack in experience:

Was stated it was an hour by horseback and not 2/10 of a mile, yet he said his hunting party was left up there without being packed out. They had to walk out with their gear, a distance that took horses an hour to do (while leaving your camp behind). And that's backed up by the photo of the camp in the snow. Why weren't they packed out and had to hike out on their own? How often does that happen?

You also said you talked to them more than your wife, yet his original post said you wouldn't return their calls or texts while they were out hunting. Direct contradiction between what he said and what you said. Someone isn't telling the truth.

Not taking sides, just seeing some concerning issues.

And unlike the original WPO representative who posted on the original thread, yours is a MUCH better attitude and not directly attacking and arguing potential customers

There out day was on sat. they chose to hike out, one on thursday and the other two on friday. The season closed on friday. And no this does not happen often. I have to get the camps out after the clients due to the heartbeat rule. Dont even get me started on the twelve heartbeat rule.It takes 4 trips per camp not counting if they get an elk down or bringing in more supplies.  Thanks for all positive input on this matter.

 :yeah:I
They decided to hike out early.
I never understood how they could get pissed about hiking out when wpo wasn't even scheduled to pack them out till sat.
