I've been saving for about 5 years to buy another benelli.  I currently own a super black eagle and am planning on buying another benelli for just quail and chukar.  Really like the look of the super sport with the ported barrel.  My question is that it seems to only come in a 30 inch barrel and I'd like a 26 inch.   Can I order different barrel lengths or should I buy a different model.  Like to be able to cycle light loads through it for quail.  My super black doesn't do well with light loads sometimes.

I shot a Super Vinci over the summer w/ 2 3/4 light loads for trap and it cycled really well.  I also shot one last weekend with 3 1/2 Remington Hypersonics and it about blew my arm off.

I've heard good things about the Vinci.  The safety up front would take some getting used to.  The only reason I wanna shooter barrel length is because it's lighter to carry and the benelli action is about an inch and a half longer than most guns anyway.

I don't think you can get a shorter barrel on the super sport since it's marketed as a target gun. Are you wanting a 12 or a 20?

Have you ever removed the recoil spring and cleaned and lubed the tube and spring on your Benelli? I have a 1990's SBE that shoots dove loads to 3 1/2" goose loads with no issues. I even put in the Wolfe 25% heavier recoil spring and still no issues. I know you've been saving for another shotgun which you should get on the other hand knowing your old trusty SBE works like a smooth swiss watch is peace of mind as well. If you haven't removed your recoil spring you'll need a gun vise and some heat as they secured it with locktite.

Yeah I removed spring from inside but pad.  Basically as I get older I wanna lighten my gun up and am hoping this can quicken my reflexes too.  I'll continue shooting my sbe until I find the perfect fit.

Cordoba & Montefeltro are also nice options to take a look at. I have shot lots of rounds through both of these guns and they cycle the lighter loads.
I personally shoot the SBEII and purchased a new 25th anniversary model in Sept.

I did pick up a Vinci, but didn't like shooting it.  After about a 1,000 rounds through it, I sold it and went back to my SBEII.  I also have a M2 which I enjoy shooting as well.  Virtually the same as the SBEII until you try to take it apart.  Slightly different and only a 3" gun.

If you are after the 20 gauge, don't over look a SX3.  I picked up one of those for shooting crows and pigeons.  I love shooting it and it is a light gun.  I probably have close to 2,500 rounds through it and no issues.
