Need recomendation on a muzzle device.
« on: November 16, 2016, 05:00:11 PM »
I'm building a .223 upper and I can't decide on what to put on the threaded barrel. I'm hoping the hearing protection bill gains traction so I can thing about a can but in the mean time it will need something. I was leaning towards the Miculek compensator but decent pricing and supply are hard to find not impossible. I was thinking of getting a Spike's tactical Sd-1 or a car-1 as a place holder giving it a sbr look until I find what I  want, or maybe just a thread protector. Any opinions or recomendations are appreciated.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Never really liked the A2, but may work as a place holder.

They are a very good Flashhider and really only second to BE Meyers.

Thread protector til you get a can.
Is it for looks or function?

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I have shot a BE meyers at night and stood next to it much like the video. I can attest to how awesome they are... Plus they are made In Redmond WA.

I also forgot to add that the BE Meyers has the same flash suppressor that has a quick connect for Silencer could cans.

If you are leaning towards a can I would start there. A quick disconnect muzzle device is going to be specific to the can manufacturer you end up going with. I'm a big fan of SWR products.

I'm leaning towards a can, but only if they get dropped from nfa class3. That's why for now I need a place holder. I don't want to get a qd for a can and limit myself to only that one, never know what will happen between today and when I actually make that purchase.
