Douglas County Antelope

Anyone familiar with this group of Antelope? Was pleasantly surprised to see them. Looked to be around 12 and the majority were collared. Way cool!

Interesting if that's the case. Quite a distance and one major river crossing away from where those were released.

I suppose it could be from the 99 they planted on the Yakama Reservation. That's quite a trot as well though.

Strange. These were spotted west of HWY 17 , roughly 20 mikes north from the connection to HWY 2. I drive that twice a week and haven't seen them before and they just appeared. All look relatively young and the collars looked in new condition. Which makes sense as that release was just last February. Be cool to see the data from the collars!

They are from the plant the Colvlle Tribe made last winter.  Everyone thought the river would keep them in place.  Apparently this group didn't get the memo that antelope don't swim.

I'm pretty sure they're from the Colville transplant as I don't believe we collared any, just ear tagged.

That is pretty rad considering the rivers breadth through there.

Yes they are from the Colville rez.  It is the same reason that there are a lot of black bears in that area too. They get pushed off the rez due to so much pressure for so long of a time.   They came across the river late September they were seen a lot during deer season.

Is it just the Washington antelopes or do they all roam around that far?
