Coon muskrat and otter boards
«
on:
November 26, 2016, 03:38:12 PM »
Does anyone local make or have a few extra boards. I am not looking for a bunch 6 each coon and muskrat. I am not trapping a ton this year just getting fur shed and tools squared away. On otters I have never put one up before so I don't know if there are multiple sized boards or not. I will get some research done on that. Any advice is always appreciated.

You could make your own. Here's a set of patterns.

Why have I seen an variance of about a 1/2 inch between sizing?

A half inch is not really significant. Probably a lot more variation then that as a rule.
And yes you need a couple different sizes for each animal unless you are using adjustable stretchers.
Ted Cantrell and maybe George Brady might have stretchers. I don't see Ted on here much but Kip is and he would know if Ted has stretchers. Kip might even sell some.

I ordered some boards from F&T because I had gotten a small x-mas bonus from work. Not many as I don't plan on getting a bunch of trapping done this year but just tinkering mostly. I am guessing I should have put this one on a stretcher instead of a standard Coon board. Not the prettiest work I know so please don't beat me up too bad but he is bigger than the boards I got lol. Well apparently posting pictures isn't the easiest thing in the world Lol. Actually how do you post a picture? I click on Insert image and it just puts the BBC code image info but doesn't allow me to browse to post the pic?

Did you left click on "Attachments and other Options" below the dialogue area?
It should open up a menu that includes "Attach" in bold. Under that, left click "Choose File", then go to the file photo and double click on it. Then hit Post
