Just so you're aware....
Being a plunger-action ML,  shooting Blackhorn 209 in it is a no-no.
Its already set up for musket caps

can't 209 during the specific muzzleloader season, but it would be okay in modern season (deer/elk) and the other animals.

Actually you can shoot 209 by duplexing the loads, with either #11 or muskets caps.   I have considered trying duplexing and haven't convinced myself one way or the other if it's worth the effort.  Or are you saying the powder isn't legal during MZ season?

209 is a shotgun primer, the 209 primers are not legal here Washington State. We have to use caps like the #11 or musket caps in reg Muzzy season. make sure this rifle was cleaned good after the 8 shots. good find.

I'd check and see if you can take the breech plug out. Make sure it's not seized in there. Supposed to coat the thread with something when you take apart to clean.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

yeah, my mistake I was seeing 209 and thought the primers not the Ramshot powder.  But yeah, try to duplicate with the non-modern primers.

Thank you everyone for the input. Was just seeing if the rifle is worth the price being that old. I am not new to muzzleloaders, have been hunting with them for 10 years. This is pending that everything on the gun is in great shape after I pull it all apart and look.

Just take a good look down the barrel with a light to make sure it's not all pitted or corroded.

Absolutely!! ALWAYS bring your drop-in bore light when looking at a black powder weapon!
