Hunting Lease
« on: November 27, 2016, 10:06:14 PM »
I'm looking for a hunting lease for next year on private land for elk and deer. East or West side not a preference point GMU. Will pay for my share plus the share of whoever points me in the right direction. Price is not an issue.

Thanks for the info, I already own land for whitetails in Wisconsin and Iowa, prefer not an outfitter. Looking for a piece of property mainly for elk but deer is a bonus, free hunting to anyone that hooks me up. Wanna scout and figure out the land by myself, hopefully with the person that helps me connect with some land.

Been there, most seem to be for draw GMU, but if I missed something and there is a good one out there, please let me know, and you hunt for free my friend.

You bet even went and looked at land but most are in draw counties, 5+ years for elk/deer, even talked to them at the expo, like I said unless I missed something would rather find land where I can purchase a elk/deer tag every year and not have to wait for a draw.

Well if money is not an option, then raffle/auction tags are probably your best bet. As most areas that old elk are owned by timber companies, or are public lands that are large tracts. But there are some large tract private holdings out there I would imagine.  :twocents:

Well I would prefer not to have to dig into my child's college fund to hunt, still would like a challenge, am hoping to find that guy who knows a guy who's next door neighbor has a couple thousand acres to lease. Not looking for a 40000 dollar hunt, also could buy a 300 inch bull for 10000 eating hay but dont want that. Might not be out there but can't hurt to ask.
Looking for something like from the website below, Midwest no problem, pacific north west, darn hard. So anyone that might know that guy let me know and hopefully we can tackle some elk/deer next year on my dime.

Not really a good state for elk hunting leases.

The Rayonier land is on the west side of the state where no draw is required, you can hunt branch antlered bull elk every year. Same with deer. So I'm confused about your statement that most of the Rayonier land up for lease are in "draw counties."

Confused too.  Those areas are open to OTC.  I've known a few people, due to the way the regs are written, that think deer/elk are permit only.  Might be the case.  If the guy is looking to hunt under a quality bull permit, then yeah, a lot of those units are more than a 5 point wait.
