Rest easy buddy

Good dogs are hard to come by. We lost ours tonight. 6 years old is far to young, but cancer doesn't care. You were one hell of a bird dog, family, dog, and well pretty much human. We will sure miss you around here Diesel. Was hunting with him just a couple weeks ago, happy and healthy looking. Friday he looked like skin and bones basically overnight. Started getting sick yesterday so we made the appt to get him checked out today. That turned out to be a 1 way trip. Have fun chasing roosters in heaven big guy!
This is the pic from 2 weeks ago

Sorry for your loss man, we had the same exact scenario happen to our Golden Retriever in October, seemed perfectly normal one day and then next skin and bones, hang in there.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. This is a pic of our youngest daughter the day we brought her home. The 2nd pic is her today, with her 11 week pup we have had for a few weeks now. Makes it easier on the kids, but not so much us.
Couple more of him i dug up.

great pics...thanks for sharing in these tough times you are experiencing...worst thing about owning a dog---they become a huge part of the family and you know that you will outlive them...take solace in the fact that he was a loved part of a "pack"and you fullfilled his life, however short it may have been, by hunting him and loving him...i don't think that he or any one else for that matter would complain about the "quality" of life you gave him. i myself would take quality over quantity any time
