Harris Bi-pods (faulty)
« on: February 06, 2009, 08:57:59 AM »
I own two harris bi-pods and my friends own them as well. Out of 5 sets 4 of them have lost the little nut that holds the legs on.

If you have harris or plan on buying them take the nuts off and throw a little lock tight on the threads so the nut doesn't back off. It's a real pain in the ars if you lose the nut and the bolt backs partially out.

This is an easy fix that'll save a headache.

Just thought I'd share.

I've had the same problem.

your buddies laugh at you and say it looks stupid when you're walking around with bipod legs flailing around.

I think it really sucks that they don't fix that before selling them. Just takes a drop of lock tight.

I have the Shooters Ridge bi-pod and the same thing happened to me in Montana in 2007. When I returned, I e-mailed the company and just asked if they would send me a couple of new pins, nuts and washers so I could fix the one I had and have a spare to put in my pack. About a month later after not hearing a thing from them I got a package in the mail with a complete new bi-pod. That is very good support from a company in my book.
