Yeah 6.5x284 would be a solid choice as well.  I've got lots of .270 and .243 brass I can play with too.  So many choices :chuckle:

If you go with the 6.5 you and Corey could just share bullets? :dunno: or split the expense in half to put them rounds together? :dunno:

Though I've played with the 6.5x284 quite a bit thsee past few years doing custom loads for some folks so it's not new and shiny to me anymore.  So maybe not.....

Karl likes splitting things with Corey... but it seems like Corey buys it for his 50% and Karl uses it for his 50...  :chuckle:

I wanted a .22-50 BMG AI but apparently it's not a thing :dunno:
That's because it would disintegrate as it left the barrel... additionally you would need the BMG reloading gear and that starts at $1500.
make some solids on a lathe?  Burn the barrel out with 10 shots but man it would be a sweet youtube video :chuckle:

I have a buddy with a 50bmg with the reloading gear. for real precision bullets that is exactly  what they do. They turn them out of Brass  if i remember correctly in order to get the tolerance really high. additionally i think there are some grooves machined into the bullet as well to help with performance at range.  I believe he said the cheapest he could shoot was $1 a round if he home poured his own bullets. they didnt have any real accuracy tho. Precision turned bullets no powder or primer cost him $7 a whack.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Don't see many 8mm calibers being built these days
The best equipment in the world is useless to the idiot who doesn't understand it.

I was dead set on a 6.5 CM for my gas gun build, but after comparing ballistics I think i've sttled on the 7mm-08. It's such an under rated cartridge. 280AI is another option for a good bolt gun. As someone else mentioned, the 264 win mag was ahead of its time as well!

You haven't got the memo? Only cool guns are 6.5 creedmor for small and .338 Lapua for large.   I doubt you could hit any targets nowadays with anything else......    8)

What about the 6x47 Lapua or 6.5x47 Lapua? I know an accuracy nut that swears by this case. Handles pressure really well. Get the right reamer and custom dies and your brass will last many many firings. Small primer pocket....better for  velocity es.

Dont know a whole lot about the calibers you listed. 243 ai would be pretty cool. Shoot some 55gr bt's at 4000+...splat or 105's a 3000+.

Think the 6.5cm would fit the bill good.
